One such memorable occasion was a lovely brunch at the Xara Lodge in Rabat. Our residents were welcomed for a wonderful morning of good food, warm company, and a change of scenery that so many of them truly treasure. For those who came along, it was far more than a meal — it was an occasion to feel celebrated and cherished.

Events like these would simply not be possible without the kindness of those who open their doors to us. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the directors, management, and staff of Xara Lodge for their remarkable generosity. Their warmth and willingness to welcome our residents so graciously made the day truly special — and it did not go unnoticed by anyone present.

It is thanks to the generosity of partners like Xara Lodge that we are able to take our residents out into the community and give them experiences that bring so much happiness. These outings remind us all — residents, sisters, and staff alike — of the beauty of coming together and caring for one another.

The morning opened on a deeply moving note with “L-Irxoxt” — a beautiful and reverent portrayal of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, performed as a heartfelt tribute to the Easter season. Written by Lilian Fsadni and directed by staff member Graziella Attard, this sacred production was brought to life by residents Emmanuel Mifsud, Felicia Sultana, Maria Farrugia, Piazza Darmanin, Catherine Barbara, Joseph Attard, and Sr. Rosa, with Josette Spiteri lending her voice as narrator. The performance carried a quiet dignity and tenderness that moved many in the audience, serving as a beautiful reminder of the hope and renewal that Easter brings to all of us.

But the morning was far from over. After a moment to gather hearts, the stage transformed completely — and the laughter began.

The second performance, “Ikla Ghal Kappillan Ma Wenzu u Rozi”, written and directed by Graziella Attard, brought an entirely different kind of joy to the room. With a wonderful cast of residents and staff — Manwel Mifsud, Catherine Barbara, Emmanuel Camilleri, Dorothy Vella, Joseph Attard, Victor Zerafa, and Graziella Attard — the play had the audience smiling from start to finish.

Together, the two plays perfectly captured the fullness of life we cherish here: faith and fun, reflection and celebration, all shared as one family.

We are so proud of every resident and staff member who gave their time, energy, and heart to make this morning unforgettable. A very special word of thanks goes to Graziella Attard, who directed both productions with remarkable dedication, and to Lilian Fsadni for her beautiful script for “L-Irxoxt”.

Moments like these remind us why community matters — and why, at Little Sisters of the Poor Malta, every day holds the potential for something extraordinary.
